Dutch Open Masters 2016 successfully held in Rotterdam

With 79 entries the Dutch Open Masters 2016 was a great success

The players enjoyed one of the biggest clubs of the Netherlands, Victoria Rotterdam. Playing on the same courts as where the World Open 2011 was organised. Everyone enjoyed the quality of the courts and the bar area making it a high-quality squash tournament.

Rotterdam, well known because of its architecture and its big harbour, made it a nice and enjoyable city to stay and play squash. The tournament hotel (Novotel) was only 1,5 kilometers from the venue. The Novotel had 17 floors which gave the players a nice view around the city Rotterdam.

Because of the large amount of courts, the organisation was able to plan many matches starting on Friday at 14:00. All categories were scheduled in groups, which meant that every single game counted. With a lot of great matches and some surprising winners Peter Karlsson (M65+), Andrew Clarkson (60+), Ian Bradburn (55+), Fredrik Johnson (50+), Marjolein Houtsma (W50+), Predi Fritsche (M45+), Karin Thiel (W45+), Dave de Beule (M35+) and Melanie Kreisel (W35+) where the proud winners of the Dutch Open Masters 2016.

We would like to thank all the participants and volunteers who made this event happen. Also special thanks to Matthis Furhmann who made a lot of great pictures of this tournament. All the pictures are posted on his online album. https://www.flickr.com/photos/squashomaster/albums

We are already looking forward to the next edition of the Dutch Open Masters 2017. In the 2017 edition, we will organise extra social events to make it an event which you will never forget. See you next year!
