From the 9th till the 11th of November, we organised the Belgian Masters Open in Olympia Hasselt. We welcomed 60 players from 14 different countries. As organisers we witnessed a lot of exciting matches. It was really nice to watch all of you players enjoy this great game we all play and love so much, squash.

Friday was marked by struggles and losses for some seeds. Alan Hathway had the worst start of the tournament. After his first serve of his first match his opponent hit him accidently in the eye with the ball. Alan went to hospital for a check-up, but was forced to withdraw from the tournament.

Following a hard day’s squash on Saturday with some very close and hard fought matches, some players gathered at Olympia for a game of bowling and some drinks. A nice end to a Saturday evening.

Following the final matches on Sunday, presentations were made to the winners in each category.

We would like to thank all players and we hope to see them again next year! We would also like to thank Jo Severy and his team from Olympia for the great support and giving us, as Federation the opportunity to organise this event in his great club. Thank you! And last but not least a special thank you to our sponsors: Sport Vlaanderen, Dunlop, AA-Drink and Targus.
