Coaching Courses WSF Level 1, 2 and 3

The ESF coaching committee are planning coaching courses during the autumn 2021

On behalf of World Squash Coaching, the European Squash Federation, we are pleased to invite you to coaching courses during the autumn 2021. We are planning three courses:
WSC Level 1 -- 15-17 October 2021 Vienna, Austria

WSC Level 2 -- 21-24 October 2021 Budapest, Hungary, information to follow
WSC Level 3 -- 16-21 November 2021 Lagnau, Switzerland

 

 

WSC LEVEL 1 - 15 - 17 October 2021
This course will be held in a new hybrid format, 
where all candidates must successfully complete the eLearning Foundation Coach Course before attending the 3-day onsite course.

Candidates must first register (GBP 99) for the eLearning Foundation Coach Course here: https://try.squashskills.com/worldsquashcoach 

As this course is part of the World Squash Coaching Programme, participants must register with their SPIN on the WSF website (www.worldsquash.org) as L1 Coach Candidate, which costs GBP 16. Please do this before the course starts. Please contact michael.khan@europeansquash.com if you have problems with registration.

ACCOMMODATION
The hotels Ibis St. Marx and Roomz Gasometer are in walking distance from the club. Meals and accommodation are not included in the course fee.
TRANSPORT
The club is next to the metro station Erdberg on the U3 line. From Vienna airport you can take the train to Wien Mitte and from there it is 4 stops on the U3 to Erdberg.
MEALS
The club overs snacks and there are two restaurants in walking distance from the club.
TIME FRAME
The course will start on Friday at 14:00 hrs and finish on Sunday at 16:00 hrs.

 

 

WSC LEVEL 3 - 16 - 21 November 2021
On behalf of World Squash Coaching, the European Squash Federation and Swiss Squash we are pleased to invite you to the WSF Level 3 Coaching Course.

The Level 3 course aims to guide coaches to work with players up to a national squad and professional level.  All candidates must have successfully completed a WSF Level 2 course, or provide evidence of an equivalent qualification and level of competence. 

Acceptance of applicants not holding a WSF Level 2 qualification is subject to approval by the World Squash Coaching Panel.

In addition to attending the course, candidates are expected to fulfil post course theory and practical assignments. These assignments will require candidates to choose one of their own players of appropriate level, make an annual plan and deliver a meso cycle with at least 12 lessons, one of which must be videoed and provide detailed, written documentation. The assignment must be submitted to the tutors within six months after completion of the course.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is not included in the course fee. There are several hotels in Thalwil, however we recommend the IBIS hotel Adliswil/Zürich-Wollishofen, which has a nice standard for an IBIS hotel and also features a restaurant. Average room prices are CHF 120140 a night. For booking accommodation at a special rate (CHF 110 per night and room including breakfast) or any questions on transport, etc. please contact Michael Mueller at michael.mueller@squash.ch

TRANSPORT

Take any S-Bahn from Zurich airport to Zurich main station and change to S4 to Langnau-Gattikon or take S2 from Zurich airport and change in Thalwil to bus 240 or 140 to Langnau-Gattikon.

MEALS
Lunch is included in the entry fee. All other meals must be paid for by the participants.

TIME FRAME

The course will start on Tuesday at 09:30 hrs and finish on Sunday at 15:00 hrs.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Once you have registered as a Level 3 Coach Candidate, you have access to all WSF Coaching Resources via your SPIN profile. We strongly recommend you read the L1 and L2 material before attending the course. Please note that as part of the ongoing assessment throughout the course you will be expected to give a presentation or run a short coaching session at the start of the course, based on the information from the L1 and L2 resources. 

Pre-course reading list
Please study the list of generic topics. Candidates are supposed to understand these terms when attending a Level 3 course. You can download the list from the coaching section on the WSF website once you have registered as L3 Coach Candidate.

Post-course assignment
In order to successfully pass candidates have to deliver a six week meso cycle with one of their own players and provide detailed, written documentation. The assignment must be submitted to the tutors within six months after completion of the course.
