European Individual Closed Squash Championship 2023 is down to the semifinals

The semifinalst has been decided - all went as the seeding
The quarter-finals day started with Enora Villard from France against Austria's Jacqueline Peychar. Villard struggled in the first two games, but finally managed to win in 3 games. Reigning champion Nicolas Mueller beat Czech Daniel Mekbib in just 24 minutes. The second women's match of the day was a dramatic five set battle with Emilia Soini, Finland, having the better end against Moa Bönnemark, Sweden.
In the men's event Frenchman Auguste Dussord proved his higher seeding by beating former champion Raphael Kanda, Gemany, in 4 games. Marie Stephan from France and German Saskia Beinhard treated the crowd with an exciting match. The higher seeded French narrowlly won 11/9 in the fifth game.
Spaniard Edmon Lopez took the first game, but then Swiss Dimitri Steinmann took the initiative and secured his place in the semis in four games.
Women's top seed Nele Gilis, Belgium, cruised to an easy win against Lauren Baltayan, France.
The last match of the day featured Victor Crouin against Edwin Clain, both from France. Top seeded Crouin was just too strong for his fellow countryman and did not drop a game to reach the semis.
