We're down to the semis in Bucharest

Croatia's men and Ukraine's women are the surprise nations in Friday's semi-finals at the 2024 ESF European Team Division 3 Championships in Bucharest.
On day two of the competition at Infinity Sport Arena, Ukraine finished second behind Ireland in Pool A, with Austria romping Pool B without dropping a game, followed by Malta.
In Pool C, Sweden were also unbeaten, dropping just one game with Greece managing second spot. Italy won Pool D while Croatia grabbed second thanks to a close win over Bulgaria.
The quarter-finals took place on Thursday evening. Sweden and Ireland delivered strong performances in the top half of the draw to set up an exciting semi-final on Friday at 5pm local time.
In the lower half of the draw, we saw really close battles, all matches ending 2-1. Italy surpassed Greece and Ukraine upset the seedings by winning in the last moments against Austria. Italy face Ukraine in Friday's afternoon session.
In the men's event, the action in the group stages saw a tight draw between Liechtenstein and Croatia (2-2) with both teams are among the favourites for the title.
Overall, the top eight finishers were Romania and Greece (Pool A), Italy and Slovenia (Group B), Croatia and Liechtenstein (Group C) and Jersey and Turkey (Group D).
Most teams won 4-0 in the afternoon's quarter-finals. Thus, on Friday, Romania play Croatia and Liechtenstein take on Italy in what are expected to be some tough matches, starting at 11.30 AM local time.
